What is Danish Language 2 Examination?

The Danish Language 2 Examination (Prøve i Dansk 2) is the conclusion to Danish Language 2, Module 6. You can use the Danish Language 2 Examination, if you want to apply for permanent residence and in some cases for Danish citizenship. The Danish Language 2 Examination also provides access to for instance:

Danish as a second language (beginner’s level)
AVU (General Adult Education) courses at centres, so-called VUCs, around the country
Driver training courses
FIF (preparatory course for immigrants and refugees)

Registration

It is free to sit the Danish Language 3 Examination, if you are enrolled on a Danish Language 2 Course at Speak and registered for Module 2.6. However, you are required to pay a fee to sit the examination, if you are an independent student.

Price and dates for the Danish Language 2 Examination

The Danish Language 2 Examination May/June 2024

Written examination: 15 May

Oral examination: during the period 10 – 21 June

Registration deadline: 4 March 2024

Price: DKK 1.520,-

 

The Danish Language 2 Examination November/December 2024

Written examination: 13 November

Oral examination: during the period 2 to 13 December

Registration deadline: 2 September 2024

Price: DKK 1.520,-

Where and how is the examination held?

You can choose to sign up for the examination in Hellerup/Frederiksberg or Helsingør.

 

The written examination takes place in;

  • Frederiksberg
  • Helsingør

The oral examination takes place in;

  • Hellerup / Frederiksberg
  • Helsingør

 

We will inform you about the exact location no later than 2 weeks before the examination.

It is not possible to request for a certain examination location apart from what you can choose at registration.

 

It is not possible to use a PC or Mac during the exam.

Remember ID

It is important that you bring the correct ID for the Danish Language 2 Examination.

Below, you can read what constitutes valid identification:

 

  • Residence permit card, alien’s passport, convention passport, or driver’s license issued by a public authority in Denmark.
  • Passport, identity card, or driver’s license issued by a public authority in an EU/EEA member state or Switzerland.
  • Passport issued by a public authority in a country other than those mentioned above, with a residence sticker affixed.

 

Make sure to check well in advance of the exam if you have the correct identification. A photocopy or picture of the document cannot be used.

How do I get my certificate?

We will send your certificate to your e-Boks no later than 2 weeks after the oral test.

You can also pick up your original certificate at Speak Hellerup up to 1 year after completion of the exam.
