FVU English is a free course for those who want to improve their ability to speak, read, write, and understand English. FVU courses are designed to help you perform better at work, in education and everyday life.
What is FVU English?
FVU English consists of 4 levels. You start at the level that suits you best.
Level 1: Here we work with simple words and phrases.
You learn to talk to others at a slow pace. You’ll start reading and expressing short sentences.
Step 2: Here you’ll get to talk a bit more.
In level 2, you’ll expand your vocabulary with commonly used words and you’ll write and understand short messages, such as e-mails.
Step 3: We work with the language in more detail.
For instance, you’ll learn how to search for information in English and you’ll be able to speak more coherently and express your opinion in English.
Step 4: We use the language more actively.
You will be able to use English actively, for example in the workplace. You practice presenting topics in English and being able to find relevant information in English texts.
Admission requirements
You don’t need to know English to start FVU English. But you do need to know Danish equivalent to;
- passed Danish Education 1, module 6
- passed Danish Education 2, module 5
- passed Danish Education 3, module 4
Or if you are tested at an equivalent level.
If you are at a lower level, you may be able to enroll in FVU-start.
If you are under 25 years old, there are special conditions.
Level test
You can complete FVU English, level 4 with an official level test. If you pass the test, you will receive a test certificate.
Levels 1, 2 & 3 can be completed with an evaluation.
