The Active Citizen Exam

The Active Citizen Exam is a written multiple choice test about Danish democracy, everyday life, culture and history. It consists of a total of 25 questions.

You can use The Active Citizen Exam if you are applying for a permanent residence permit in Denmark.

The Ministry of Immigration and Integration is responsible for The Active Citizen Exam.

Preparation for The Active Citizen Exam

The Active Citizen Exam consists of 25 questions. You must get at least 20 correct to pass.

The questions are based on the learning material that you can download for free here.

The material is also available in an audio version and you can also see examples of previous tests.

If you do not pass

If you don’t pass The Active Citizen Exam, you can register for the exam again next semester. This will give you the time and opportunity to prepare better and study the material again.
