Studieprøven

Studieprøven (Danish Higher Education Examination) is the final exam of Danish Education 3, Module 6, and is the highest-level exam in the Danish language education system (Council of Europe exam level C1). You can use the Studieprøven if you are applying for higher education in Denmark.

Studieprøven, May/June 2025

Written exam: May 12, 2025

Oral exam: period June 10 – 20, 2025

Registration deadline: March 3, 2025

Price: DKK 1.888,- (DKK 944,- for the written part and DKK 944,- for the oral part).

Oral exam: period December 1 – 12, 2025

Identification requirements

NB: You can no longer use your driving licence as identification.

It is important that you bring the correct ID to Studieprøven.

You can read below what constitutes valid identification.

  • Residence card, alien’s passport or convention passport issued by a public authority in Denmark.
  • Passport or identity card issued by a public authority in an EU/EEA member state or Switzerland.
  • Passport issued by a public authority in a country other than those mentioned above, with a residence sticker attached.

Check well in advance of the exam that you have the correct identification. A photocopy or image of the document cannot be used.

The practicalities

Both the written and oral parts of Studieprøven are held in Hellerup. You will be notified of the exact venue no later than 2 weeks before the exam is held. It is not possible to use a PC or Mac for the exam.

If you pass Studieprøven, you will receive your exam certificate in your e-Boks no later than 2 weeks after the oral exam. You can pick up the original of your exam certificate at Speak Hellerup up to 1 year after you have passed the exam.

How to sign up

If you are an independent student, you must pay to take Studieprøven.

You will receive a login to mit.speakspeak.dk 14 days after the registration deadline, where you can find relevant information about the exam, exam rules, previous assignments and various exercises.

You can register for the exam here.

If you are a Speak 3.6 student, Studieprøven is free to take.

You register for the exam in Ludusweb.
