Exam in Danish 2 (PD2)

Exam in Danish 2 (PD2) is the final exam of Danish Education 2, module 6.

You can use PD2 if you are applying for a permanent residence permit and in some cases when applying for Danish citizenship. PD2 also gives you access to e.g:

Danish as a second language (basic level)
AVU subjects at VUC
Driver training programmes
FIF

Exam in Danish 2, May/June 2025

Written exam: May 14, 2025

Oral exam: period June 10 – 20, 2025

Registration deadline: March 3, 2025

Exam in Danish 2, November/December 2025

Written exam: November 12, 2025

Oral exam: period December 1 – 12, 2025

Registration deadline: September 1, 2025

Identification requirements

NB: You can no longer use your driving licence as identification.

It is important that you bring the correct ID to PD2.

You can read below what constitutes valid identification.

  • Residence card, alien’s passport or convention passport issued by a public authority in Denmark.
  • Passport or identity card issued by a public authority in an EU/EEA member state or Switzerland.
  • Passport issued by a public authority in a country other than those mentioned above, with a residence sticker attached.

Check well in advance of the exam that you have the correct identification. A photocopy or image of the document cannot be used.

The practicalities

You can enrol in PD2 in Hellerup/Frederiksberg or in Helsingør.

The written test is held in;

  • Frederiksberg
  • Helsingør

The oral test will be held in;

  • Hellerup
  • Helsingør

You will be notified of the exact venue no later than 2 weeks before the exam. It is not possible to request an exam location other than the one you choose when registering.

It is not possible to use a PC or Mac for the exam.

Once you have participated in PD2, you will receive your exam certificate in your e-Boks no later than 2 weeks after the oral exam.

You can also pick up your original exam certificate at Speak Hellerup up to one year after you have taken the exam.

It is free to take PD2 if you are a student at the school and attend module 2.6.

If you are not attending module 2.6, you must pay to take the exam. You will receive a login to mit.speakspeak.dk 14 days after the registration deadline, where you can find relevant information about the exam, exam rules, previous assignments and various exercises.
