Intensive Danish courses at DTU

For foreign employees, students and spouses from DTU in Lyngby

We offer Danish courses for international employees, students and their spouses at DTU in Lyngby. The courses are designed to help you quickly develop your Danish language skills so that you can more easily navigate the workplace, your studies and everyday life in Denmark.

The teaching follows Danish Language Education 3, which consists of 5 + 1 modules. Each module ends with a module test to ensure that you continuously develop your language skills. The courses follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), which is the international standard for language teaching.

If you complete all modules, you can end the programme with the Danish Language Exam 3 (PD3), which documents your Danish skills at a high level and is often used in connection with work, studies and residence in Denmark.

We offer two different course types:

  • Evening courses (blended learning) with classes once a week combined with online learning and self-study.
  • Intensive summer courses in August, where you have classes every day and can make rapid progress in a short time.

Both course types give you the opportunity to develop your Danish skills in an international environment together with others from DTU.

Pronunciation workshops

As a supplement to your Danish lessons, you can choose to participate in our voluntary pronunciation workshops.

You can find dates and times for pronunciation workshops here. You don’t need to enrol, but you can come from time to time as it suits you.

"The course is definitely fantastic"

"The improvement is measurable after every class. We are learning a lot and reasonably fast, not only the Danish language, but also we are having a crash course on the most important aspects of the Danish culture. Our teachers are highly qualified and have experience with students from different countries. The fact that the course is held at DTU is also very convenient for those that - like me - enjoy long hours in the lab."

Jose M. G. Izarzugaza Ass. Professor, Systems Biology
