Objectives

At Speak Medical Danish, we work towards Exam in Danish 3 (PD3) so that you can achieve the grades required to register for the medical professional exams and eventually apply for authorisation to practice in Denmark. This means that we work to ensure that you pass the PD3 with grades 7, 7, 10, which are the necessary grades to be able to enroll for the medical professional exams.

The teaching on both 3.4 & 3.5 contains more lessons than a regular day class.

See the authorisation rules here.

Course content

The course basically contains the same elements as a regular Danish course, but in addition, we focus on areas that are important when working as a doctor, dentist or nurse in Denmark. These include vocabulary about the body and diseases, good pronunciation, communication with patients and colleagues, and knowledge about the Danish healthcare system.

As part of the programme, you will be taught by Danish doctors, where you can practice conducting simulated conversations with patients based on specific cases.

Each week we present you with a clinical lecture, which is a training in listening comprehension and an introduction to medical terminology in Danish as well as training in discussing authentic/relevant cases in Danish. Thus, these lectures are both a supplement to the Danish lessons, but also a form of preparation for the medical exams.

All course participants are doctors, dentists or nurses, so there is a good basis for networking.

If you wish to join the course, and you are not already a student at Speak, you’ll need to attend an interview with one of our language consultants.
