Goal
At Speak Medical, we work towards the Danish Language Examination (PD3) so that you can achieve the grades required to register for the medical professional exams and eventually apply for Danish authorisation. This means that we are working to ensure that you pass the PD3 with grades 7, 7, 10, which are the necessary grades to be able to enrol for the medical professional exams.
The teaching on both 3.4 & 3.5 contains more lessons than a regular day class.
See the authorisation rules here.
Contents
The course basically contains the same elements as the regular DU Danish course, but in addition, we focus on the areas that are important when working as a doctor, dentist or nurse in Denmark. This includes vocabulary about the body and diseases, good pronunciation, communication with patients and colleagues, and knowledge about the Danish healthcare system.
As part of the programme, you will be taught by Danish doctors, where you can practice conducting simulated conversations with patients based on specific cases.
Each week we present you with a clinical lecture, which is a training in listening comprehension and an introduction to medical terminology in Danish as well as a training in discussing authentic/relevant cases in Danish. Thus, these lectures are both a supplement to the Danish lessons, but also a form of preparation for the medical exams.
All course participants are doctors, dentists or nurses, so there is a good basis for networking.
If you want to start and are not already a Speak student, you will need to attend an interview with one of our language consultants.
You can book an interview at the top of the page.
