Language support for SOSU students in training

Many SOSU students with Danish as a second language have the necessary professional qualifications, but experience language challenges during the training periods. This can affect their learning, well-being and public safety.

In this course, we offer targeted language support that strengthens students’ ability to communicate with citizens, colleagues and supervisors – and helps them stay motivated and complete the programme.

Course content:

• Language screening of individual students and recommendations for further action
• Weekly language support at the training location by trainers with experience in Danish as a second language
• Support to develop language learning strategies in practice
• Collaboration with training counsellors to integrate language support into everyday life
• Intensive language support twice a week for 2 hours in training periods 1, 1a and 1b
• Flexible 10-hour packages focused on the learner’s current needs

Objective:
To support SOSU students with Danish as a second language in their language development so they can better communicate in practice, thrive in training and complete their education.
